Marcy Armstrong

Registered Massage Therapist

Bio

Marcy Armstrong, formerly Marcy Pineau, was born and raised in Bradford. After graduating from CCMH in 2007, and being voted class president by her peers, she has since worked at the Fairmont in Whistler, B.C., in Scotland, and in numerous clinics and wellness centres in Ontario.

She prefers to be honest and transparent with her massage style, whilst also knowing her own limits, and she respects that all clients have different preferences. If you are seeking a deep tissue massage (the sort that involves 60 minutes of elbows digging into you while you hold your breath, wishing for it to be over) then she is not the RMT for you. Marcy, and her clients too, would say that she uses a moderate firm hand throughout and then gradually works deeper in the areas that need it, always within the client’s comfort level. She is not deemed a light therapist, though she can be when that approach is needed, but has always felt strongly about not classifying herself as a “deep tissue therapist” as some people specifically look for that.

Marcy tends to enjoy working on the lower back and neck the most, as these are common areas of tension. If you are unsure which duration of massage is ideal for you, she has suggestions listed on her booking page.

When not working, Marcy is happiest doing anything outdoors, as you’ll see from her room decor choice. She is easygoing and down to earth.

Marcy is often asked if the clients are “supposed to” talk during their massage. She firmly believes that unless you talk to her, she won’t talk to you during your treatment (unless specifically related to your massage) so you don’t have to feel pressured or obligated to chat. But if you feel the need, she is known to be pretty easy to talk to as well. The subject comes up often enough that she felt it might be an important factor for someone looking to book, and worth putting in her bio.
